10th Italian Design Day at Autostrada Hangar

It was a real pleasure to host the 10th Italian Design Day at Autostrada Hangar in Prizren.

The afternoon brought together institutions, designers, architects, cultural actors, students, and guests for a rich program of dialogue and exchange around this year’s theme: Re-Design. Regenerating spaces, objects, ideas, and relations.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Chiara Castaldo, Deputy Ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Leutrim Fishekqiu and Vatra Abrashi, co-founding directors of Autostrada Biennale, and Nora Arapi Krasniqi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, who each highlighted the importance of cultural exchange, creative thinking, and international collaboration in today’s world.

A central moment of the program was the presentation by Gaetano Adolfo Maria di Tondo, President of the Archivio Storico Olivetti Association, who reflected on the legacy of Olivetti and the role of design as a tool for social progress, innovation, and the regeneration of spaces, objects, ideas, and human relations.

The conversation was further enriched by the contribution of Flaka Xerxa Beqiri, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Prishtina, followed by an open discussion and Q&A with the audience.

The program continued with a visit to the exhibition Olivetti al femminile, followed by catering and networking, creating space for further encounters and exchange.

For us, hosting Italian Design Day at Autostrada Hangar was meaningful not only as an event, but as a bridge between Kosovo and Italy through ideas, knowledge, and shared values. It reaffirmed the importance of spaces where dialogue, learning, and creativity can happen together.

Thank you to all partners, guests, and everyone who joined us.
