On the ground floor of Shani Efendi House, intensifying the atmosphere, Anita Muçolli’s ceramic interventions reference Kosovar fables, family narratives, and childhood memories. Her sleek, dark-patinated forms animate the space, evoking horror-genre imagery of the monstrous and reminding viewers that human animals are not the only beings present here.
Muçolli artistic practice relates to socio-economic developments such as the marginalization of death and emotional spaces in Western culture, and analyzes the numerous ways collective and individual fear is expressed and passed on. She was awarded the Manor Art Prize 2026 of the Canton of Bern, the Helvetia Art Prize 2021, is amongst the laureates of the Kiefer I Hablitzel Göhner Art Prize 2022, and was nominated for the Swiss Art Awards 2024 and the Shizuko Yoshikawa Award 2024.
