Who’s there?⎜Who’s there? (2010/2025)

Around the corner from the affective odors at Dorambari Family House, a knocking can be heard. Emerging from behind a door, Nika Špan’s Who is there? | Who’s there? invites the viewer to become a listener—and a participant, too, if they choose to respond to the work’s central questions.

Špan graduated in painting and specialized in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. As a DAAD scholarship holder, she studied at Künstakademie Düsseldorf. She works with various media, particularly installations, spatial and sound interventions. Her conceptual, performative, situational and often ephemeral works have been presented internationally.
