The mixed-media paintings and sculptures of Prizren-born artist Simon Shiroka deepen the exhibition’s connection to local artisanal practices and mythologies. Steeped in the city’s craft traditions, Shiroka’s work merges silversmithing techniques with contemporary art, rendering intricate scenes based on dreams, complex filigree motifs, Kosovar symbology, and more.

From an early age Shiroka dedicated himself to the art of filigree, a traditional craft known for its delicate and intricate silverwork. He learned this craft from the most renowned filigree masters of Prizren, inheriting a rich tradition that he nurtured with passion and dedication. Driven by the ambition to become a distinguished artisan and to apply in his art, he continued his training and education first in Belgrade and then in Zagreb. After completing his studies, he returned to Prishtina, where he began a prolific artistic and applied career. Through his artistic works, Shiroka left a lasting impact on Kosovar art and beyond.
