As part of the 1st IBA Regional Meeting: Regional Collaboration of Biennales and the closing program of the 5th Autostrada Biennale, we gathered at Autostrada Hangar to reflect on the theme “Building Collaboration in Difficult Times.” The meeting opened space to exchange ideas on how solidarity, care, and shared infrastructures can inspire more sustainable and resilient networks across the region.
From our morning discussion and shared lunch to the visit of the 10th Anniversary Exhibition of Autostrada Biennale and the tour through the production, storage, multifunctional, and residency spaces in Hangar 2, the day became a meaningful moment to imagine new forms of exchange, co-production, and collaboration that go beyond individual projects and traditional funding — weaving together relationships and ideas that will continue to grow into lasting cultural ecosystems.
Heartfelt thanks to Christian Oxenius (International Biennial Association – IBA); Vatra Abrashi, Leutrim Fishekqiu, Barış Karamuço (Autostrada Biennale); Nevenka Šivavec (MGLC – Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts); Edwige Baron (Berlin Biennale); Hazal Birincioğlu, Ceren Hamiloğlu (Istanbul Biennial); Veton Nurkollari (DokuFest); Niovi Zarampouka-Chatzimanou (Counterpoints Greece); Deniz Erbaş (Çanakkale Biennial); Amanda Masha Caminals (Bienal Climatica); Fivos Sakalis (EMST – Athens); Ljudmila Stratimirović (KC Grad / Art Weekend Belgrade); Maria Lucia Aleman (MAC Panama); and Love Ssega (Southbank Centre) for their presence and meaningful exchange.
