The First Workshop – From Idea to Creation

The First Workshop – A Journey from Idea to Creation 🦋

With great energy, curiosity, and smiles, the first workshop took place at Autostrada Hangar, bringing together children in the Education Studio in two groups, morning and afternoon.

We began with a conversation about the butterfly—its colors, shapes, and transformation. From a small creature into a being that flies freely. Very quickly, the children began to share their ideas, to imagine, and to create their own butterfly in their minds.

Then, this imagination moved into process.

The children started working with wood, getting to know the material and using tools and machines adapted for their use. With focus and care, they followed each step—from the initial form to the details that gave character to their creations.

The process was just as important as the result.

There was deep concentration, patience, and a very natural sense of collaboration among them. The children helped one another, exchanged ideas, and closely followed the development of their work.

Gradually, the butterflies began to take shape.

Each one different. Each with its own identity.

Not only as wooden objects, but as reflections of each child’s imagination and dedication.

In the end, the studio was filled with creations that show more than just a result—they tell a story of process, experience, and a first step toward creating by hand.

This was only the beginning. See you at the next workshop 🦋
