Autostrada Biennale is pleased to announce an expanded collaboration with ITP Prizren, officially confirmed through a recent signing ceremony between Autostrada Biennale Co-Founding Director Leutrim Fishekqiu and ITP Director Muhamed Rexhepi.
Under this enhanced partnership, three additional hangars at ITP Prizren will be turned into exhibition spaces for the 5th edition of Autostrada Biennale.
Building on our shared commitment to revitalizing spaces and fostering artistic dialogue, this partnership continues to positively reshape the region’s cultural landscape. These three hangars will come alive as dynamic platforms for contemporary art exhibitions, community engagement, and meaningful creative exchanges throughout the three-month duration of the 5th edition of Autostrada Biennale. About Autostrada Biennale & Autostrada Hangar
Last year, Autostrada Biennale celebrated its 10th anniversary. As the only contemporary art institution in Prizren established in 2014, Autostrada Biennale functions on two speeds:
Autostrada Biennale – An international contemporary art exhibition, held every two years since 2017. The next edition opens on July 5, 2025.
Autostrada Hangar – A Center for Contemporary Art with education, production, exhibition, and artist residency within the former military base, now ITP Prizren (Innovation and Training Park).
The Center for Contemporary Art includes two Hangars, an Artist Residency, and an Open-Air Theater, hosting diverse programs organized by Autostrada Biennale and its partners. Open to the public, Hangar I and Hangar II provide space for exhibitions, education programs, a vegetarian kitchen, artwork production and professional art storage, a shop and library, a bar, and an event space—serving the cultural and educational communities and beyond.
The 4th edition of the Autostrada Biennale (2023), curated by Övül Ö. Durmuşoğlu and Joanna Warsza, was recognized as one of the 10 best shows in Europe in 2023 by Frieze Magazine, the last edition of Autostrada Biennale produced a series of new site-specific works at Autostrada Hangar, ITP Prizren, setting a new cultural perspective on the socio-economic development of the region through contemporary art.
