Breathe to think, sing to free’ was a three day workshop co-initiated by Hong-Kai Wang and Besa Berberi in the frame of Wang’s work ‘Hazzeh’ (2019-ongoing) installed in ex-Radio station together with Övül Ö. Durmusoglu. Eight young artists studying in the Braunschweig University of the Arts took part in it with some members of the Biennale team. Moving from Hazzeh’s core concept on the sonic heritages of acknowledging and mourning the loss, the enriching workshop brought layers of collective sharing of loss, connecting to collective feelings we are not initially part of, emotional expression capacities with language and singing, healing through breathing and singing. How to create strengths from our vulnerabilities grounded our whole experience. We activated the exhibition spaces and works with our presence and exercises.
