What we desire—with local knowledge and wisdom on our side—is to make a little difference through art and to address the unarchivable. We are honored to continue this journey that we’ve been on since 2020 and to see how our host institution has grown and continues to grow, say curators Joanna Warsza and Övül Ö. Durmuşoğlu. You can read their full statement here and see the opening program here.

Autostrada Biennale functions on two speeds, one is the international biennale that has taken place since 2017, and the other is our space with its ongoing education and production program - Autostrada Hangar. We consider art production as a sustainable form of learning and exchange that addresses the needs of communities. For the upcoming edition of Autostrada Biennale, we are proud to produce a significant number of newly commissioned artworks in Autostrada Hangar, state the founding directors of Autostrada Biennale, Leutrim Fishekqiu, Vatra Abrashi, and Barıs Karamuço.

This edition is curated in collaboration with the CuratorLab 2022/23, a course for professionals at Konstfack University of Arts in Stockholm: Andria Nyberg Forshage, Áron Rossman-Kiss, Giulia Menegale, Giovanni Giacomo Paolin, Hana Halilaj, Hala Alnaji, Hampus Bergander, Ieva Laube, Maximilian Lehner, Orestis Mavroudis.

The 4th edition of Autostrada Biennale is made possible with the generous support and partnership of the Allianz Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Prizren Municipality, Prishtina Municipality, Mitrovica Municipality, Foundation for Art Initiatives, US Embassy in Prishtina, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, GIZ and ITP Prizren, 7 Arte, SAHA Foundation, ERIAC, French Embassy, Goethe Zentrum Prishtina and HBS. In addition, Autostrada Biennale is grateful for the valuable contribution of numerous individual work and conversation partners in Prishtina, Prizren and Mitrovica who made this edition possible.

The exhibition promises unpredictable encounters in and out of Prizren, into further geographies and their imaginaries. Come along with us physically or online!
