Second day of the Autostrada Biennale Summit Program

On the second day of the Autostrada Summit, we focused on artistic production and community engagement in a program co-developed with Allianz Foundation Hub partners: Inland (Spain), Fondazione Studio Rizoma (Italy), Postane (Turkey) and Recyclart (Belgium).

The day started with a discussion and a hands-on workshop with a focus on public monuments. Artist Alban Muja, Leutrim Fishekqiu (Co-founding Director of Autostrada Biennale), and Marion Descamps (Coordinator of Fabrik at Recyclart) led the session, whereas production teams of Autostrada Biennale and Recyclart worked together with Alban to reshape the artwork “Moving Monument” and let it have its own journey in six pieces.

At the same time, chefs from Autostrada Biennale and Recyclart teamed up for a kitchen workshop. Cansu Yılmaz and Diona Nojani from Autostrada Biennale collaborated with Imane El Bakali and Bérivan Güzel from Recyclart for a cooking workshop where they shared recipes and culinary practices. More than just cooking, it became an opportunity to learn from each other, exchange ideas and build friendships across cultures.

Later in the day, the screening of “Mamma Perdonami / Mëma më fal” by Genny Petrotta provided a powerful narrative on historical resistance and memory. Co-produced by Studio Rizoma and Autostrada Biennale, the film invited reflection on political legacy and personal history.

The day ended with a panel discussion on “Community Collaboration in Artistic Production” with Leutrim Fishekqiu (Co-founding Director of Autostrada Biennale), Giorgio Mega (Co-founder of Fondazione Studio Rizoma), Roel Forceville (Director of Recyclart) and Genny Petrotta (Artist). They spoke about the importance of building partnerships between artists and local communities to create meaningful art and have a long term impact on our society.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made the day so special.
