Street Suzi Çelebia
It is a gas station like many others. It is, however, picturesquely located in the old town of Prizren, in front of the municipality building. It was opened in the mid-1970s, when many guest workers were leaving Yugoslavia to labor in Western Europe. For Ulf Aminde and Manuel Gogos’s work, the gas station becomes a materialized point of departure and arrival of the diaspora, a place on the map marking the tangibility and infrastructure of migration, travel, and destination.
